General Info

Brew Hut employee challenge - brew an American IPA made with Mosaic hops, Honey Malt, and English Ale (WLP002) yeast. Winner by popular vote at the March 2013 Homebrewers night.

2 1/2 weeks from grain to glass. Very fruity nose, not tropical fruits per se, but peach and some passion fruit. Pleasant malt backbone to a firm bitterness. Some grassy notes in the nose from dry hopping. Will dissipate over time...

The grapefruity characteristics of the Apollo hops seemed like they would be complementary to Mosaic's tropical fruit, melon, and floral aromas.

Abysmal efficiency. Probably the crush. Need to tighten it up.
