English Barleywine – Partial Mash GONE

Statistics

General Info

This was orginally a small beer I made from the second runnings of the Wooly Bugger Barley Wine. These runnings had a OG of approx. 1.040 prior to the DME additions which bump it up to 1.080ish.

At first sample during the March 13th meeting it had a raisony type of rich malt taste. Although it was about a month old it still did not yet carbonate in the bottle. May be due to the cellar temp in the low 60's and low residual yeast in each bottle. I had racked it several times to reduce the sludge...negative results in this case.
